I hear there's rumors about me on the... Internets...
Back again after a long absence, but this time as a result of some random end of work silliness I posted over at the Volokh Conspiracy that Orin Kerr apparently liked. Yes, in case you were wondering, I'm a Trekkie, though one in deep denial. (Quietly buries NCC-1701-D Technical Manual under a stack of papers on his desk... it's for inspiration for the next great scifi novel... really...) I only wish that Michelle Boardman was still blogging there so I could have had a Counselor Troi...
OK, I'll stop now.
So what's been going on, keeping me away from blogging?
1. My job. I can legitimately claim to be in a law-related field now. For the last few months, I've been a lowly administrative grunt at a DC-area law school.
2. Law school applications. Current tally: Rejected from Georgetown, awaiting word from UVA, Catholic, and George Mason. (P.S. If anyone from these schools are reading, I am such a law nerd I spent the Metro ride home tonight reading a copy of this working paper from UChicago Law Professor Adrian Vermeule on "Libertarian Panics." Willingly. And enjoyed it. Bottom line, Can a law nerd like me just get one lick of that brass ring? Just one lick?)
3. Aikido.
4. Commenting on other websites. (Among others, Volokh, Fark (under the handle of MasterThief), and Dean's World).
5. A girlfriend. Specifically, the most caring, loving, intelligent, witty, and all-around knock your socks off girlfriend ever known.
So, yeah... not a lot of time for blogging.
But... if I DO get into law school, I'll have time to start up again. (And give this site a major overhaul!) So watch this space... and wish me luck!
Thief Out.
